Design Thinking
Bringing Professionals Together
The time single individuals defined waterfall based projects are gone. It is inefficient to hide the expertise away in silos instead of bringing people together to talk and work with each other. Utilising my practical management skills in a lean, solution based enviroment reduces clutter and meetings over meetings, that could have been and Email. By working as an interdisciplinary connector between marketing professionals, developers, sales departments and the C-level management I’m bridging the gaps between all stakeholder, enriching the products with ideas instead of outlook calendars with mass invites.
Curiosity & Learning
Since nearly all fields need and use design these days it’s simply not possible to know everything about all topics. Therefore in today’s world self-reflection and the curiosity to learn new methodologies, techniques and heuristics are amongst the most important skills. But this is only where the story begins: an evolving environment in which new technologies, business cases and marketing fields are continously emerging means that design has to be on guard, rapidly learning and adapting. A good UX-Design capability allows swift reaction to rapid and frequent changes whilst being selective enough to reject the unsustainable hunt for „new trends“.
Empathy, Patience, Decision Making
Being a designer is more than being a consultant of sorts. Whilst there was a time when design was only a service, it has now grown far more mature, so today’s design services providers are taking responsibility and have to defend their own decisions and ideas. My experience in various fields and nearly all levels inside a company helps to address the audience in the right way, explaining the reasons for my decisions, be it in an 2 hour expert discussion or a 10 minutes management briefing.
